Amanda Harwell

Amanda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 14 years of experience in support of women’s and children’s mental health. She is also certified as a Perinatal Mental Health Professional through Postpartum Support International and also has advanced training working with addiction. Amanda has worked in nonprofit, community mental health, perinatal substance abuse, and primary care settings providing mental health counseling to children, adolescents and adults.
Amanda is experienced in treating anxiety and depressive disorders, trauma related disorders and the many challenges that can arise as individuals attempt to conceive, experience pregnancy and delivery and enter postpartum and parenthood. Amanda also enjoys working with people outside of the perinatal space on issues related to identity, sexuality, body image, self esteem and relationship issues.
She approaches therapy from a holistic perspective considering a person’s history, cultural background, experiences, and current goals for themselves while assisting them in creating or improving balance and overall wellness in their lives. Amanda is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Circle of Security Parenting and integrates elements of these modalities throughout therapy as needed. She believes in being open-minded and non-judgemental while creating a safe and empowering space for clients to explore and build confidence and security in themselves. ​Amanda is a mother herself and strives to offer a warm and inviting space where she can align with you in support of your goals.
